….oh, lord, my lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth….

i am sitting in the lobby of my hotel deep in french canada. there is one computer here – i am surprised to find it. also, i cannot find the shift key so everything is lower case. sorry.

hugh is asleep in our room. but i cannot sleep. it is nine o`clock and nearly everyone in the town is walking on the streets that line the shore. there is a festival of song right now and music in a language i do not understand is drifting in the windows. it is lovely and loud and mournful.

i just took a walk, too. down to the edge of the water, where i watched for whales as the sun set. i saw a white beluga slowly go by in front of me – just for me. the slow beauty of the whale reminded me why i love to watch them so much.

i am obviously feeling poetic tonight. ahh – i am full! full of new sounds and smells and images! i want to capture it here to remind myself that the world is big and rich and wonderful – and i want to remember.

we will spend the weekend here. then on sunday hugh and i go to quebec city. more new sights, more new sounds.

that is all – i think i am going to go find a quiet corner and finish watching the sun set on the fjords. and breathe in. and out. and in. and out.

Lord Jesus, I confess envy right now.
Please forgive me and teach me to be content in the wilderness of Mint Hill.

PS you BETTER has brought a camera. 🙂
